FAQ

Where is my data stored?
Locally on your machine by default, with upward-compatible local backups. You can also preserve a backup in Google Drive, with more cloud drives planned.
Can I back up memory locally?
Yes. Local memory backups are a primary path, not a fallback. Google Drive is optional for people who want cloud-drive preservation.
Which cloud drives are supported?
Google Drive is supported as the first optional cloud-drive target. More cloud drives will be added over time.
Will old backups keep working?
Yes. Klawforge treats memory backup compatibility as a core promise: older backups should remain readable and upgradeable as the product evolves.
How many devices are included?
Use Klawforge on unlimited personal devices.
Which AI models are supported?
Klawforge is Claude-first today. Gemini and GPT adapters are in active dogfood and will move into beta as the integration layer hardens.
How does Klawforge use my AI compute?
Klawforge piggybacks your IDE chat — when you talk to Claude, Gemini, or GPT inside your IDE, Klawforge uses the LLM handle your IDE already borrowed from those providers. We never hold your API keys, never relay subscription tokens, and never invoke LLMs when you're not actively using your IDE.
What is Klio?
Klio is Klawforge's memory mentor — a quiet presence inside your IDE chat that surfaces relevant context from past sessions, cross-project patterns, and your own conventions. Klio works in two modes: ambient (whispers context into ongoing conversations) and active (gently nudges when something seems worth a longer thought). You can mute Klio anytime in Settings.
Can I message Klio when I'm not at my computer?
Yes — link your Telegram account in Klawforge Settings and chat with Klio from your phone. Messages go into a quiet queue and Klio replies when your next IDE session opens (using your IDE-borrowed AI compute, not ours). Klio uses the same memory graph across IDE and Telegram, so context follows you between commute, meeting, and desk. v1 supports plain text; richer content (images, files) lands in v1.x. LINE / Discord / Slack channels also planned for v1.x.
Do you support Windows and Linux?
macOS is first. Windows and Linux are staged immediately after launch hardening.
Is there a free trial?
At beta open: 3 + 4 day trial — 3 day standard, then Klio gently invites you to extend for 4 more days if memory value is still compounding. Hard pay gate on day 7 (you pick $10 / month or $100 / year founding price). Closed beta period (pre-Maturity Gate) participants get founding terms locked in; refund policy publishes alongside live billing.
